Communication: The Process of Communication.

The process of communication

Communication” is a process to transferring information from a sender to receiver, and attaining a clear understanding between them.

Thus, communication does not end with saying or expressing something; it is not complete unless the receiver has understood the message.
In an interview situation, communication is a two-way process between you, the candidate, and the interviewer,  the company. When the interviewer ask the question, he become the sender and you become the receiver. And when you respond with an answer you become a sender and interviewer is the receiver.
Thus , your role in the communication process continue to change till the communication is over.

◆ The first step of the two way process is to conceptualize and convey the message ( or what one want to ask ).

◆ The second step is for the receiver to listen and understand what has been asked.

◆ The third step is to respond to the query.

◆ The fourth and final step is to confirm that the receiver has understood the response correctly.Otherwise, you may have to repeat your communication. Confirmation is necessary to check the effectiveness of your communication. This process hawever, may not always be by verbal expression; it can be confirmed by body language or by other expression by the receiver.

Thought the communication process (cycle) look simple, it is difficult to accomplish a completely satisfactory results from it. Because much of what one wants to convey, gets lost in the process due to communication barriers.

●   Element in the communication process are :

1. The sender must plan and conceptualize (mantally) what he wants to convey, i.e. his question or answer or thoughts. This should be done before expressing or conveying what one wants to.

2. The Sender must select a medium of language in which he want to convey the plan message. The language should they be matually understandable by the receiver and sender.

3. There should be physical transmission of the planned message by the sender by using the matually acceptable language.

4. The message should be received by the receiver by listening. Receiving a message correctly involve careful listening, I contact, feeling, etc.

5. There should be confirmation to ensure that the message has been understood as intended by the sender (this is also termed as feedback). This feedback could be got from voice or body signal of the receiver, which must be understood by the sender, the further classified if necessary. This is tricky to accomplish all the time. However, this is necessary to know the correctness of your reply and to feel motivated onwards, during the course of the conversation or interview.

Receiving the message, answer of question by communication party in an oral interview generally take place by listening. Therefore, the art of listening is a critical skill for good communication. One must listening first.... to (correctly) answer. In an interview, the season often opens with the interviewer asking the candidate a question. The candidate must therefore develop the skill of listening and quickly understanding the question, to prepare the answer.

Therefore, during the interview and candidate has to:

* Pay full attention to the centre of the communication,

*  Listen carefully to understand the communication

* Ask for clarification, if necessary,

* Conceptualize the answer in clear term,

* Respond to the question clearly and briefly, and

* Check with the sender if he has understood the response.
